Since 2016
16 Neal’s Yard, Covent Garden

The Barbary opened in the iconic Neal’s Yard in Covent Garden in 2016: a single horseshoe counter built around an open fire.
The menu draws on the Moorish cooking of the mountain villages of Spain and Morocco, spanning the Atlantic coast through to the Mediterranean.
The Barbary Neal's Yard has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand since 2017.

Our menu takes its culinary cues from the vast landscape of the cuisines and countries of the Barbary Coast, from Southern Europe to Northern Africa.
The Barbary tells a story of trade, travel and culture – people voyaging along the coast, collecting and sharing ingredients and recipes, gathering influences from areas visited and thus enriching their own culture and heritage.
We accept reservations for 2–4 people via the booking widget below. We encourage solo diners to just pop in as wait times for single seats are usually very short.
Walk-ins are always welcome, and we'll do our best to get you seated quickly.
We only seat complete parties but you are welcome to join us for a drink at the bar whilst you wait!
The Barbary Neal’s Yard is an intimate hideaway for an exclusive hire, where 24 guests gather around a horseshoe kitchen bar to experience the theatre of open-fire cooking. The menu draws inspiration from the Barbary Coast: bold flavours that celebrate fire and spice.
With a dedicated team on hand throughout your event, our menus are created and adaptable to suit you.
